
Prime Minister of Cape Verde Visits RS2Lab
The visit of the Cape Verde Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, to the Responsible and Smart Solutions Lab (RS2 Lab) at the University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV) accentuates the growing importance of responsible artificial intelligence (AI) and locally-driven technological innovation in addressing national challenges.
As the Responsible AI Lab (RAIL) Satellite Lab in Cape Verde, the RS2 Lab is a key hub for ethical, sustainable, and socially impactful AI research.

During the visit, the lab showcased its work in IoT, automation, AI-driven solutions for agriculture, climate resilience, and clean energy.
The Prime Minister stated that scientific research is central to Uni-CV’s mission and reinforced the government’s commitment to advancing science, technology, and innovation (ST&I). He challenged the lab to develop AI-powered pest control solutions tailored to Cape Verde’s unique needs.
