During the Responsible AI Lab (RAIL) SHECodes Cohort 3 Graduation and Challenge, Fatimah Abdulai Tiyumtaba shared how she never imagined how much SHECodes would shape her future.

When she first heard about the free coding program in her second year, she saw an opportunity that would later transform her academic and professional journey.
“I learned Arduino, Python, and Machine Learning skills that became the backbone of my final-year project,” she shared during the graduation. “This initiative didn’t just teach me to code; it gave me confidence.”

Her gratitude extended to the RAIL and Women in Engineering (WinE) teams and the facilitators who guided her.
“To any woman hesitating to dive into tech, take the leap. SHECodes showed me that with the right support, we can achieve anything.”

Her story is just one of many proofs that when women are empowered with skills, mentorship, and opportunity, they don’t just succeed. They redefine what’s possible.
