UNICV and RS²LAB take part in talk on digital citizenship at Abílio Duarte Secondary School
On February 11, the Abílio Duarte Secondary School in Palmarejo hosted an insightful session in celebration of Safer Internet Day, organized by the Multisectoral Regulatory Agency for the Economy (ARME). Themed “Navigating with Awareness: Internet, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Digital Future,” the event aimed to educate 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students on the challenges and risks of online browsing.

Representing the University of Cabo Verde (UNICV), the Responsible and Smart Solutions Laboratory (RS²LAB) actively contributed to the discussion. A delegation from the institution, led by Prof. Arlindo Veiga, engaged students with valuable insights into digital security and the impact of AI on everyday life.

Beyond the lecture, the UNICV team conducted a hands-on demonstration of robotics and automation models, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among the students. This interactive session provided a practical understanding of how these technologies are shaping both the digital and industrial sectors.

The participation of UNICV and RS²LAB highlights the university’s commitment to technological education and digital awareness, fostering a deeper understanding of emerging trends and the challenges of the digital age.
As part of its extended network, the Responsible AI Lab (RAIL KNUST) operates RS²LAB as its satellite lab in Cape Verde.
